ACSNI set up on 7 December 1987 a Study Group which was asked to report in writing to the Committee on the part played by human factors in the incidence of risk in the nuclear industry and the reduction of that risk. The first report, published in 1990 (ISBN 0118856952) considers the contribution made by training to safety. The second report published in 1991 (ISBN 0118856952) addresses human reliability, with particular emphasis on the methods known as Human Reliability Assessment (HRA). This third report, in completing the Group's terms of reference, considers the role played by organisational factors in enhancing safety.
