This publication contains the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended). It also includes supporting guidance on the control of carcinogenic substances, provisions relating to work with biological agents and the control of substances that cause occupational asthma. The publication has been revised to take account of two sets of amendment regulations, from 2003 and 2004. The 2004 amendment regulations come into force on 6th April 2005. The practical guidance is aimed at management, supervisory staff, safety representatives and technical specialists such as occupational hygienists, consultants etc.
