Guidance on regulations

Overview

Second edition acknowledging regulatory changes. Addressed to anyone affected by the Regulations (eg operators, installation operators, installation owners, employers, managers, safety representatives, safety committee members and others). Prepared following consultation with representatives from the Confederation of British Industry, a spectrum of industry bodies, the Trades Union Congress, offshore unions and relevant government departments. Reflects the six headline regulatory concerns: ensuring well risks are as low as reasonably practicable; correct assessment of subterranean conditions; proper consideration of suspension and abandonment issues; appropriate well examination schemes; provision of regular reports to the Health and Safety Executive; and promotion of competence in those undertaking well operations.
