Terms and conditions

Every effort is made to ensure that the information on this site is accurate but no legal responsibility is accepted for errors or omissions.

These are subject to change without prior notice.

Products may be withdrawn without prior notice.

Products may be unavailable for extended periods because of periodic reviews of their content.

Orders for non-priced products which have been unavailable for extended periods may be cancelled without prior notice.

All products leaving the warehouse should be free from defect. Customers must inspect goods as soon as it is reasonably practical to do so. Complaints about the physical quality of products received must be reported to HSE's distributor within 10 working days (Saturdays and Sundays are excluded for this purpose) of the date recorded on the delivery note which accompanies all despatches.

Customers should refuse delivery of packages and parcels which are delivered in a damaged condition.

Complaints concerning priced products must be reported to us within 10 working days of the date recorded on the delivery note.

All priced products leaving our warehouse remain the property of the Health and Safety Executive (the 'HSE') until they have been paid for.

Credit/debit cards and credit accounts are not debited until goods have been despatched from our warehouse.

By law, customers in the European Union can return most items within seven days after the date of delivery. This arrangement does not apply to purchases of products such as DVDs which have been unsealed.

Customers who wish to cancel a purchase under the Distance Selling Regulations should clearly identify the item which is being returned on the relevant delivery note. The note should be clearly endorsed 'Contract to purchase cancelled under DS Regulations'. Items to be returned should be packaged securely and returned with the annotated delivery note to The Returns Department, Prolog (HSE/SM102), Caulder House, Sherwood Park, Annesley, Notts, England NG15 0DJ. Customers are responsible for the cost of returning products to our distributor and for ensuring their safe return.

HSE will not be responsible for returned items which are lost in transit and refunds will not be made if delivery to the Returns Department cannot be established.

Complaints will be investigated.

Complaints relating to specific orders will be dealt with, in the first instance, by our distributor. Customers should refer to the exclusive order number allocated to each order when contacting our distributor.

Details of unresolved problems relating to specific orders or other reasons for dissatisfaction with the service provided can be forwarded to:
