Free Stress Indicator Tool

Overview

The Stress Indicator Tool is free for organisations using it with up to 50 workers.

However, it will not work if you have fewer than 10 responses; this is to protect the anonymity of the responder. If you have fewer than 10 workers, we would encourage you to use the Stress Talking Toolkits instead.

Before creating an account, please watch the demonstration videos and guides to familiarise yourself with the Stress Indicator Tool.

Terms and conditions

As outlined in section 4 of the terms and conditions, the tool can only be used within the limits of your licence. This includes the free version, which may only be used once per organisation each year. Running multiple surveys for the same organisation breaches the terms and conditions and reduces the effectiveness of the free version. If it becomes clear that your organisation needs to run multiple surveys, we’ll contact you to discuss upgrading to the premium version. This will allow you to assess and manage work-related stress more effectively across your organisation.

Supporting resources and getting started

We are pleased to provide a wealth of supporting resources to help you build a firm foundation for your Stress Indicator Tool. These include making the case presentations, stakeholder management guidance, example correspondence and publicity materials. These will guide you in setting up a successful survey and help to increase engagement with your workers.

Do you want to use the information to improve, or benchmark your organisation against others, or evaluate the impact of change initiatives?

Collect

The third stage of the process is to collect responses for your survey. The video provides a demonstration of how to collect responses using the system. We also provide a wealth of resources to support getting higher response rates.

Analyse

The fourth stage of the process is to analyse the results. The stress indicator tool report is fully automated, meaning you do not have to spend time collating the data and inputting the results manually. Once a minimum of 10 responses have been collected, it summarises the views and experiences of your employees and provides recommendations for future improvements. The video provides a demonstration of how to analyse and compare responses using the system.

Moving forward

The final stage of the process is to continually review and evaluate. The HSE suggests that you monitor and review the effectiveness of your action plan and evaluate whether it is having the desired effect. The information can be used to shape your future strategies and to help you identify the most suitable areas in which to invest your resources.
